On February 21, some selected retailers & vulcanizers / rim aligners of motorcycle tyres from Hyderabad Zone visited GTR factory. The main thrust of their visit was to show them the process of tyres manufacturing specially motorcycle tyre plant. So that when they go back to their places they have a full confidence in General brand. During their visit, they were given a brief about the products being manufactured, by the senior staff of GTR. They took the round of the factory & appreciate the on going process. On this occasion Mr Mohammad Shahid Hussain, Chief Executive / MD was also present there where he addressed the visitors.
This exercise will help promoting General brand in the vicinity of Hyderabad and its adjacent areas.
Recently, General Tyre (GTR) sponsored World Tourism Day which was celebrated on Sept. 27, 2017 at one of the world highest peak Khunjerab Pass which is 15397 FT above sea level. The festival was arranged by Cross Route Club (CRC). Around 200 bikers took part in this event. They journey embarked upon from Lahore and it took bikers three days to reach at roof of the world. One of the salient feature was that the national anthem of Pakistan was also sung unanimously by the participants. The motorcyclists were provided specially developed theme warm jackets carrying GTR & CRC logo on them.
GTR arranged factory visit for its motorcycle tyre distributors from all over Pakistan on April 25, 2014. The idea of inviting them was to build confidence in our products. The took a round of GTRs plant facilities and observed its production process till finish product. They were also given a shield as a token of participation.
General Tyre and Rubber (GTR) Company organized a training program “Tyre Care and Service” for the officials of a local Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC), aiming to impart advance knowledge and technical understanding of tyre safety and service.
The training program, first of its kind towards the advancement of auto sector, will prove to be a milestone for automotive makers for production of best quality automobiles at par with global emerging technologies.
CEO GTR, Shahid Hussain, said that tyre is an important component of a car and its compatibility with the body of vehicle signifies great importance.
Tyre manufacturers play a critical role in engineering the perfect tyre for the perfect car driving, braking and overall road safety and ride, he added.
General Tyre Pakistan (GTR) celebrated its 50 years existence in Pakistan on October 26, 2013 at Hotel Pearl Continental Karachi. Some 500 respectable & distinguished guests of senior level from Original Equipments, Banks, Financial institutions, Insurance, Vendors / Suppliers & Dealers of replacement market from all over Pakistan were invited. Besides this, retired employees of senior level alongwith the present employees were also present to grace the occasion.
Honorable Chairman, Mr Ali Kuli Khan Khattak & Mohammad Shahid Hussain Chief Executive / MD addressed the audience. Chairman in his speech talked about the problems / challenges being faced by the tyre industry. Mr Shahid also gave an impressive presentation about GTR past & present. In his speech he, thanked all its equity partners including Continental, Pak Kuwait Investment Company & National Investment Trust.
In order to memorize 50 years, an exclusive performance was also arranged & each decade was marked with some hit songs of that particular decade. The execution was brilliant and the audience cherished the idea followed by the dinner.
Amjad Sabri qawal & its team also felt their presence and their heart touching performance was very well applauded by the audience.
General Tyre participated in the recently held MARCON 2014 as one of the co-sponsors. The event was held on March 10 & 11, 2014 at PC Hotel, Lahore. Some 400 guest have participated the event where they witnessed distinguished & renowned speakers from Pakistan, India & Sri Lanka.
